Hario Syphon Sommelier Design

It seems that Hario have been inspired to produce the Hario Syphon Sommelier from great wine due to its name and shape. The Sommelier – wine waiter – can now extend his range of skills to include preparing and decanting perfect coffee. Each Sommelier is hand blown for a particularly high-quality finish, with the lower bowl serving as a beautiful decanter for table top quality service.

The Hario Syphon Sommelier is made out of the best quality heatproof glass called borosilicate and it is not difficult to tell that almost a century of Hario glassware experience was dedicated in designing this marvellous coffee syphon.

  • Supreme Quality Borosilicate Glassware

    coincidentally, befo

coincidentally, before i ever used a hario or cmeehx, or had heard of the clever dripper, i was doing my own variation of this technique. i would steep the ground coffee in hot water in either a pyrex measuring cup or the french press vessel and then pour it through my melitta 1-cup mug-topper filter. in this way i had full control, just as you describe. obviously the clever dripper is better at this, as it is one easy to use piece. but the method i describe is repeatable with things most people have around the house (you could even use the filter and basket from a *shudder* mr. coffee in a pinch).
