What the V60 Barista Server Changes
The Hario V60 Barista Server is a heatproof glass coffee server developed from barista feedback, with clearer volume markings for reading yield mid-brew and a spout shaped to pour cleanly without dripping. It comes in 360 ml and 600 ml. As a rule, pair a size 01 dripper with the 360 ml and a size 02 with the 600 ml. Like all Hario servers it's borosilicate glass and microwave safe.
Servers are the thing nobody researches. You buy a dripper, you need something to catch the coffee, so you take whatever came in the box or whatever's cheapest. Which is fine, right up until you're squinting at faint markings or wiping a drip off the counter for the fourth time that week.

This one was designed against feedback from people using servers all day, and their complaints were specific and unglamorous.
They couldn't read the measures. Faint moulded markings on clear glass with dark coffee behind them are genuinely hard to read at a glance, and in a café you need to know your yield without stopping to peer at it. The markings here are considerably clearer.
It dripped. A spout that doesn't break the flow cleanly leaves a line down the outside of the glass and a ring on the counter. Reshaping the lip fixes it, and it's the sort of detail you only notice once it stops happening.
The shape was awkward in service. Narrow enough to hold comfortably, stable enough not to tip when a dripper sits on top.

A Range Server at £17 catches coffee perfectly well and most people should just buy that.
The Barista Server is worth the extra if you're brewing to a recipe and want to read the yield as it climbs, or if you're serving from it in front of people and the drip is bothering you. It's £35 for the 360 ml and £38 for the 600 ml.

Practical bits

Warm the server through when you rinse your filter paper. A cold server pulls several degrees out of the first of your brew, and you've gone to the trouble of getting the water temperature right.
